No words needed
The ticking of the clock in the lighted room, which was sparse but comfortably furnished, with large windows, each one cubit apart, and the fireplace, which gave a warm atmosphere and the only light in the room, became through the drumming of the cold rain on this clear September night, which seemed to be only a breeze, drowned out without regard to disturbing the peaceful atmosphere. The Nosferatu Alucard was sitting by this warm, pleasant fire on the bed, leaning against the soft white velvet cushion against the wall, listening to the patter of rain as if it were a beautiful piece of classical music. Leaning against him, his head resting on his lap, was the paladin of Iscariot, Alexander, who for four days could not close his eyes for even a few moments to go to sleep, to shut down and gather his strength back. After four sleepless nights, Alexander had been given the opportunity to rest, and accepted this, since he needed it, not only the precious sleep, but also the warmth and affection of the vampire, whom he had never dared to dream, even if he was then longed for the warmth and for the vampire Alucard. All of this and his feelings did not leave him alone, for days, weeks, since the first moment he saw the Nosferatu, since their first fight against each other, since their first peaceful conversation, both in the museum garden with the white roses, the birches, the birds, on the bench. It was to make peace among themselves, to bring some peace between Iscariot and Hellsing, even though Maxwell and Integra had yet to overcome a major obstacle, even though this probably would take a hundred years, it was a small one, nonetheless important step. And Alexander and Alucard took this step, both lying in each other's arms, not knowing that their love was not one-sided. Both were of the assumption, their love was one-sided, they could not admit that the other one felt something either. But now both lied here, unable to know about the response of their feelings, still feeling comfortable in each other's presence.
The seconds passed, became minutes and later hours. It was the deepest night and the vampire Alucard felt the fatigue slowly overcoming him as well, unable to fight it, he slipped into sleep, his head resting on the pillow, right next to Alexander's. This gave a peaceful, beautiful picture, as if there were no trouble in this world, as if they were both at peace.
The morning dawned, the warm rays of the sun shining through the beige silk curtains, enveloping the bed in a warm light, as if the angels themselves were blessing the two sleeping ones and gently waking them.
The sunbeams tickled Alucard's face, his eyes fluttering open slowly, a little dazzled by the warm, bright sunbeams. His face was very close to that of Alexander, only a few inches apart, almost as if the two lying ones were kissing each other in the next moments. Only a few more seconds passed and the Paladin opened his eyes, looking directly into the crimson ones of Alucard.
Having such a moment together was rare indeed, Alucard wanted to use this opportunity, Alexander as well. It was a beautiful moment, filled with tenderness shared by both, without any worries and fears, just enjoying the presence of each other. Both spent some moments in silence, only looking at each other in the eyes, forgetting everything around them.
Alucard put his right hand on Alexander's cheek, feeling the warmth of the other for a moment, surrendering to it. Alexander made no move to resist, instead he took Alucard's hand in his, turned his head and kissed the inside of the hand of the Nosferatu. These tender touches were enough for both to know how and what they felt for each other, no words were needed, no words could describe the feeling. Words only complicated all this, with that they would go past the actual point. Alexander put his other hand around Alucard's unusual narrow waist for a man, and pulled him closer. This moment was all that mattered, all their worries and fears were gone for that little moment, nothing could interrupt them. Alucard put his lips on Alexander's, closing his eyes, surrendering to that. Alexander did the same, closing his eyes, returning the kiss.
Their hearts beat for each other.
They didn't need words to show how much they loved each other.
