Pac-Man is more than just a maze-chomping arcade character he’s a cultural icon who helped define video gaming for generations. Since his debut in 1980, Pac-Man has inspired players around the world to dodge colorful ghosts, chase power pellets, and clear endless levels of fun. If you’ve ever played the original PacMan game online, you know how simple yet addictive the experience can be. But behind the familiar dots and mazes lies a fascinating story that many fans have never heard.

For example, did you know Pac-Man’s design came from a pizza with a missing slice? Or that each ghost—Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde was programmed with its own unique hunting strategy to make the game more challenging? Even the infamous level 256 “kill screen,” where the game breaks down due to a coding limit, has become legendary among arcade enthusiasts. These little details helped Pac-Man become much more than a game they made him part of pop culture history.

To celebrate this legacy, I’ve created a presentation filled with 10 fun facts about Pac-Man you probably didn’t know. From its original Japanese release as “Puck-Man” to its Guinness World Records and even its modern-day appearances in Google doodles, Pac-Man continues to surprise and entertain fans.
